Abstract:
Cerebral Palsy is the leading cause of childhood disability
affecting function and development. Its prevalence is
approximately 1.5-2 cases per 1000 live births. Its incidence
has not changed in the last more than 4 decades, despite
significant advances in the medical care of neonates. Nearly
15-20 % of total physically handicapped children suffer from
Cerebral Palsy. It is a condition which cripples the child
during the course of growth and development. Based on its
Lakshanas, the chief Dosha involved in Cerebral
Palsy is identified as Vata, hence Nidana-panchaka
are evolved accordingly and this disorder can be managed on the
line of treatment of Vata Vyadhi.
