Inaternational & National Seminars


The 4th International Seminar on Ayurveda was organized during January 5-7, 2003 with a focus on Ayurvedic education, research and drug standardization. This University was selected by the Government of India to organize this seminar under WHO biennium project 2002-03.  The objective of the seminar was to lay down minimum standard and norms for the syllabus of Ayurvedic teaching and training in the institutions who have signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the Gujarat Ayurved University.

 

 


Total 750 delegates from various parts of the country and 53 delegates from 22 foreign countries viz. Australia, Brazil, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mauritius, Nepal, The Netherlands, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, UK, USA, Venezuela, Ireland, Spain and Belgium participated in the seminar. Total 66 Guest Lectures and 137 scientific papers along with 59 posters were presented in 24 sessions during the seminar.

In addition, National Seminars had also been organized on: Better Utilization of Ayurveda in Health delivery Programme with special reference to Primary Health Care (July 1998), Medicinal Plants Resources Development (October 1998 at Ahmedabad), Workshop on Modern Teaching Methodology (November,1998), Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medical Knowledge & Management of Incurable Diseases like AIDS (February 1999 at Saputara-Dangs), Ayurvedic Management of AIDS & Cancer (July,1999), Workshop on Internationally Acceptable Standards for Ayurvedic Formulations (July 2000), Seminar on Ayurvedic Approach to Mental Health (July 2001), Symposia on The Management of Diabetes Mellitus (July 2002), Symposia on Ayurvedic Approach to Allergic Disorders (July 2003), Workshop on Role of Ayurvedic Terminology in teaching, research & practice, sponsored by Commission for Scientific & Technical Terminology, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India (August 2003), and Training & Orientation Programme for Promotion of Cultivation of Medicinal & Aromatic Plants, sponsored by NABARD (December 2003).
