The 4th International Seminar on Ayurveda was
organized during January 5-7, 2003 with a focus
on Ayurvedic education, research and drug
standardization. This University was selected by
the Government of India to organize this seminar
under WHO biennium project 2002-03. The
objective of the seminar was to lay down minimum
standard and norms for the syllabus of Ayurvedic
teaching and training in the institutions who
have signed the Memorandum of Understanding with
the Gujarat Ayurved University.
Total 750 delegates from various parts of the
country and 53 delegates from 22 foreign
countries viz. Australia, Brazil, Czech
Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Greece,
Israel, Italy, Japan, Mauritius, Nepal, The
Netherlands, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri
Lanka, UK, USA, Venezuela, Ireland, Spain and
Belgium participated in the seminar. Total 66
Guest Lectures and 137 scientific papers along
with 59 posters were presented in 24 sessions
during the seminar.
