Ayurvedic Medical Kit & GMP in Ayurvedic
Pharmacy

The Ayurvedic
pharmacy of the Gujarat Ayurved University
manufacture the medicine for hospital
purpose. To make the people aware about
preservation and promotion of health and
cure of diseases, the Ayurvedic pharmacy has
launched the Ayurvedic Medical Kit which has
been highly appreciated in India and
abroad.

New
machineries have been installed in the
Pharmacy for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
to produce standardized and quality
Ayurvedic drugs. Now Ayurvedic products are
available in strip packing and blister
packing.

The
Government of India, Dept. of ISM & H has
recognized the University as the Centre for
preparing compound Ayurvedic formulations
for establishing standards.

A project
submitted by the University for setting up
of drug testing laboratory at Dangs Dist.
has been sanctioned by the Government of
Gujarat for testing medicinal plants.
Extension
Activities
The University is
regularly organizing Nidan Camps under Rural
Health Programme where patients are diagnosed
and distributed free medicines with follow-up in
the University hospitals. The teachers &
internees of Shri Gulabkunverba Ayurved
Mahavidyalaya and teachers, M.D. & Ph.D.
Scholars of the I.P.G.T & R.A. are actively
involved in this programme. The Institute of
Post Graduate Teaching & Research in Ayurveda of
the University is a WHO collaborating centre
where WHO fellows attend short-term teaching and
training programmes in various specialities,
regularly. Presently the process of
re-designation is under progress.
Gujarat Ayurved
University entered into a lease deed with
Ayu-Tirth Trust and took over the property of
the trust in Ahmedabad as well as about 20 acres
of land with Pharmacy building of 10000 sq.ft.
and two residential blocks at Timba. It is
functioning as an extension college of the
Institute of Ayurvedic Pharmaceutical Sciences.
AIDS and Cancer
Research Centre
Maharishi Atreya
AIDS & Cancer Research Centre has been
established in the Institute of Post Graduate
Teaching & Research in Ayurveda. In
collaboration with modern medical experts, a
research group has been constituted to tackle
these diseases.
Niramaya Gram
Yojana Project
The University
has launched the Niramaya Gram Yojana Project at
village - Arbalus in district Jamnagar, to make
this village disease free and provide health as
per guidelines prescribed by the W.H.O. with co-ordinated
efforts of various govt. agencies such as Rural
Development Programme, Dept. of Forest and other
district level authorities.

Bhupendrasinhji Chudasama, Hon'ble Minister
of Agriculture, Gujarat inaugurating the
workshop on Niramaya Gram Yojana on February
1, 2003. Dr. Hitesh Jani, the
Vice Chancellor Dr. P.N.V. Kurup & Hon'ble
MLA Smt. Vasuben Trivedi are on the dais.
Medical Astrology
Research Centre
It is believed
that the diagnosis and forecast of the disease
can be made by critical analysis of individual’s
horoscope which can be helpful in prevention and
treatment of diseases. The Medical Astrology
Research Centre has been started in the
University with a view to explore the role of
astrology in the field of medicine for its
better utilization in health care programme.
