| We have already entered in the 3rd millennium. The people, globally wants to be treated by Ayurveda as it is easily available, eco friendly and toxicity free due to its holistic approach. There is a need to provide standard and quality Ayurvedic drugs in Indian and global market. For this purpose it is necessary to provide genuine raw medicinal herbs in global herbal market. The target could be achieved by forming the co-operatives of medicinal plants. It is need of the hour to give training to the farmers and drug collectors for identification, cultivation, collection, preservation and storage of medicinal plants. The Gujarat Ayurved University has conducted such training programme under the Dept. of Botanical Garden for the gardeners and farmers of the adjoining area of Jamnagar. Moreover, for teaching and training purpose higher attitude plants are being cultivated in the Green House and Net House under the Dept. of Dravyaguna of the I.P.G.T & R.A. |

| Literary Research Unit |

| Under Literary Research Unit, the University has collection of valuable and rare manuscripts on Ayurveda. Presently scanning of these manuscripts is going on to finally prepare the CDs of these rare manuscripts. Programme for electronic conversion of manuscripts is also in progress. |
